From the onset, the most critical item to the success of the East End Lofts project was putting together the right development team. LoftWorks, LLC, an exceptional combination of development and construction experts, was created in 2003 for this purpose.

Michael J. Heller, Jr., President of Heller Pacific, Inc., saw the Elliott Building at the corners of 16th & J Streets and immediately envisioned a vibrant place to live and work in downtown Sacramento. Michael had a great deal of experience developing commercial projects in the Sacramento area and knew he needed to build an experienced development team to make his vision come to light.

He first sought out Walsh & Forster, Inc. who joined the team as general contractor and partner. The Sacramento division of Walsh Construction Co./Oregon, Walsh & Forster, Inc. brings a wealth of practical experience with infill, mixed-used and adaptive re-use projects.

The next key component to the team was the addition of Glenn Sorensen, President of Sutter Commercial Properties. Glenn has over 15 years of experience in Sacramento-area real estate investment and an intimate knowledge of the market and design trends.

Rounding out the team is Mark Friedman, President of Fulcrum Property. Mark was looking for an opportunity to develop a mixed-use project and find a new office location for his development business. He and the rest of the LoftWorks team have been an ideal match, and Mark has been instrumental in securing credit restaurant operators for the first floor.
